1. Prepare gas
Fund the wallet with enough ETH for gas on the Base network shown by Hermes. In production this should come from a real transfer, bridge or supported buy path.
Reference: Base documentation.
The wallet needs ETH for gas on the active Base network and HRM for the token balance. Without gas, the wallet can still receive HRM, but it cannot send anything out.

Acquire HRM through the configured market or send it from another compatible Base wallet. Hermes now reflects live market state directly in the Wallet view instead of relying on validation-only funding helpers.
Hermes shows the active network, market status and explorer handoff directly in the app. Always verify the address and network before sending value.
Check that Hermes shows both assets: ETH for gas on the active Base network and HRM for the token balance. If one is still missing, refresh again or open the explorer from Hermes to confirm the chain state directly.
Most failed first sends happen because the wallet has HRM but no ETH for gas, or because the funding transfer has not confirmed yet. When in doubt, verify the address, wait for confirmations and check the explorer link from Hermes.
